Sundari, our cold process soap named after the red-skinned Goddess Sundari, is formulated with skin healing and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as turmeric, saffron infused coconut oil, calendula oil, and vetiver essential oil making it perfect for sensitive skin and for use on both face and body. It also has a really pleasant scent thanks to the vetiver essential oil.
Kasthuri Turmeric, aromatic wild turmeric, has been used topically for centuries. Turmeric exhibits anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties that when applied topically can brighten and even out skin tone. Studies have shown that turmeric also holds the ability to boost collagen production which can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties turmeric is also beneficial for those with acne-prone skin.
Saffron is full of antioxidants, including vitamin C, and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It’s also rich in minerals and carotenoids. Carotenoids are which give saffron its bright colour. Saffron contains two types of powerful carotenoids, crocin and crocetin believed to be effective in damage repair at the cellular level. When applied topically via skincare, Saffron also helps promote circulation, improves the appearance of scars, and reduces hyperpigmentation while brightening and calming the skin.
Calendula oil is a natural oil made from infusing the petals of marigold flowers in oil such as olive oil. It's antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties make it useful in healing wounds, soothing irritated skin, and improving the overall appearance of skin.
Vetiver essential oil, also commonly called Khus oil in the Eastern parts of the world, is extracted from the roots of the Vetiver plant which is a green grass native to India. It has a very earthy scent and is used for its soothing and grounding properties. In skincare it is used for it's high antioxidant content which helps slow down the aging process.
